About the studio

Twenty years of retail design, brought home.

For two decades I’ve designed and managed retail interiors in some of Australia’s busiest shopping centres. That means working with landlords, retailers and builders to deliver spaces that look right, work hard and are built properly.

TWC Design takes that experience into homes. Homeowners are often handed plans and quotes with nobody independent in their corner, and short-stay hosts often spend money in the wrong places. I review it all with a commercial eye, and tell you plainly what I’d change.

What retail taught me

Habits that make homes better.

01

Design for the busiest day

A shopfront is planned for the Saturday rush. We plan your kitchen for the school-morning rush, and your rental for checkout day.

02

Materials have to earn it

Commercial finishes are chosen for wear, cleaning and replacement cost. Your home deserves the same scrutiny.

03

Every centimetre is rent

In retail, wasted space costs money every month. That habit finds the storage and clearance in your plan.

04

Read the drawings like a contractor

Years of reviewing tenancy designs and builder documentation means spotting the gap before it becomes a variation.

Independent, always.

No commissions from builders or suppliers, ever. You pay for the advice, so the advice works for you.
